FRESH 15 Weather & Event Updates
5:30 a.m. Update:
Based on current weather conditions and guidance from officials, the FRESH 15 will move forward as planned with a 7 a.m. start time. To ensure everyone’s safety and allow the race to operate within current conditions, a modified course cutoff time of 2.5 hours for the 15K (9:30 a.m.) will be in effect today for the safety of our runners and vendor community.
The next update will come at 6:15 a.m.
The safety and well‑being of our runners, volunteers, and staff are always our top priorities. While we plan for the race to take place rain or shine, extreme weather or other unforeseen conditions may require FRESH 15 officials to delay, modify, or cancel the event to ensure everyone’s safety.
Any changes to the event will be communicated as quickly as possible through the official FRESH 15 website, social media channels, and via email and text to all registered runners. Participants are strongly encouraged to confirm their contact information prior to race weekend to ensure timely receipt of any weather-related updates (please follow the steps below).
If the event must be cancelled due to severe weather or other circumstances beyond the control of FRESH 15 organizers, registration fees are non‑refundable and non‑transferable. While we hope the race does not get cancelled, the purpose of FRESH 15 is to benefit local charities, so registration fees will be donated to our local charity partners, as planned, to support their ongoing work in our community.
Weather‑Related Guidance
Rain: The FRESH 15 will continue as planned in the event of rain.
Lightning: If lightning is detected, all race activities will pause immediately. Participants should safely return to their vehicles and monitor email and FRESH 15 social media channels for further instructions.
Delays: If lightning or other hazardous conditions occur, the race may be postponed pending official guidance from the city. Any delay may last up to 90 minutes, depending on conditions and safety recommendations.
Cancellation: If the race cannot begin within that timeframe, we will ultimately have to make the hard decision to cancel.
Preparing for Race Day
If inclement weather (including lightning or high winds) is forecast, a race status update will be posted on fresh15k.com by 5:00 p.m. the day before the event (Friday), and all registered participants will receive an email update.
A second update will be provided by 5:30 a.m. on race morning.
If weather conditions require a delay on race day, the latest possible start time will be 8:30 a.m. (a 90‑minute delay). If the race cannot begin within that timeframe, we will ultimately have to make the hard decision to cancel.
Participants are reminded that weather conditions can change rapidly and should exercise personal judgment regarding their safety at all times.
